Climate Communications Work

Having worked as a writer in the entertainment industry for the last 12 years I refocused my creative skills for a new purpose, concentrating my energy on the climate change emergency we currently face.  Writing stories is my passion and my calling, new stories need to be told in the coming months and years to motivate, educate, and drive momentum, whether those stories are serious, sad, or tinged with comedy.

In 2021 I undertook a master’s in international relations and climate change at Goldsmiths University, dealing with topics from Degrowth, Development, Fossil fuel dependency, Wellbeing economics, with my dissertation focussing specifically on the democratic deficits in British politics inhibiting effective climate action.

I have begun work as a freelance communications writer for the Global Strategic Communications Council, the work at GSCC has proven to be a perfect combination for my skillset, mixing my creative skills with my newfound knowledge and passion for climate change.

I continue to work as a Digital Communications volunteer at the Climate Coalition on a number of their campaigns such as the Great Big Green Week and some exciting new ventures, developing copy and offering strategy suggestions and helping wherever possible.

In 2022 I completed a work placement at Global Action Plan where I was involved in research, worked closely with members of their digital communications team, and became increasingly inspired by the campaigns they are championing.
